I Love my Bible :D

Ok so some of you may find this completely boring, but I'm excited anyway :D

D'ya see it?? I finally got my name engraved on the front of my beeeeaaaautiful new Bible :D ain't it snazzy? B-) How 'bout a closeup?

Mom chose the style and lettering for me, since I wasn't able to go along. Pretty schweet, no?
So in case you're wondering, yeah it is a little strange trying to get used to the new translation. (I've always used NKJV, but they use ESV at church so it's nice to be able to follow along a little easier. And I still have my NKJV too, of course :P I like to study with multiple translations :D ) Actually, the ESV isn't that drastically different from NKJV. Some of the words are just updated for our modern language. But sometimes the words are very different. It's been interesting, reading through the Bible, and the whole time my mind is comparing what I'm reading to what I'm used to reading. Funny how words can change so much over time within one language, neverminding translating them from a completely different, much more precise language. LOL

Perhaps the most interesting of all changes I've had to make is getting used to the different format. I'm used to double-column pages with all the cross references down the middle of each page. This one is single-column with cross references down the middle of the Bible, with notes on measurements or alternate translations of a word at the bottom of the page. But it's all good cuz mom said the double-column formats didn't hae cross-references and some didn't have concordances, and I like me some cross references and concordances :D
Here's a random shot I took of one of the pages... I landed on Psalm 66 :)
