7 Blessings in the Sunshine

So I'm gettin back into the groove of my photography "obsession" :P I've always enjoyed going out for spontaneous photo shoots, but I've just been too darn busy lately. Well this past week I started up again. I'd nearly forgotten how fun it is :D

My favorite photographic subject has always been my equine companions. Sometimes they're very cooperative, sometimes not. Sometimes it just takes a little imagination to make their uncooperativness work. That's the joy and the challenge in animal photography.
Here to the left is Julie. She's laid up right now with Quittor :(
This is one of my favorite times of year. Well I have a lot of favorite times of year... but this is the time when the green begins to fade to yellow and orange and red and purple... the long rays of sunshine make photography fun.
Munch munch munch.... that's all they do, it seems!
Oakley is recovering from greasy heel... Here she's enjoying the lovely green grass.
I love playing with angles. We have a lot of trees in the northwest pasture, so it adds a fun element to the pictures to throw a tree in here and there. It's kinda like a built-in frame.
Here is Polish helping me demonstrate this concept

One of the most fun parts of my photographic adventures is those shots that just totally work out... usually it's those shots you don't really think about. Though it's more rewarding if you think about the shot first. :P At any rate, I love it when a picture turns out perfectly.

This shot was not set up. Happy was coming to visit me, and I just happened to capture the perfect lighting and pose. It reminds me of some of my horse calendars :P
**pin a ribbon on my shirt** ;P

Sometimes the sun is fun to play around with. Sometimes it kinda messes the pictures up though. Sometimes you can't quite decide if it's a nice effect or a messin-it-up effect :P
I like the way the sun lights his eye. too bad I cut his ears off... :P
Another fun thing about the sun and the trees is dappled sunlight. It's pretty fun to play arouond with, too.
I like this shot. Peacefully grazing in the dappled sunlight.

Remember what I said about playing with angles and the trees? Same goes for old, fallen logs.

I have a slightly better angle, but this one was kinda cool b/c you get the horse AND the barn.

Ok so this is the biggest irritation in my adventures... I get a perfect pose, perfect angle, perfect whateveryouwantinapicture... and it doesn't focus right. It comes out fuzzy. BLAH!

At least this one didn't come out too terribly fuzzy... but it was enough to bug me. Perhaps adding an effect would help ease my mind :P

Another thing about this time of year is that it's starting to cool down... That means fuzzy horses!

Cash is, of course, the fuzziest of them all! Cute, ain't he? ;)

Multi-horse photography is fun to work with... Not always easy, though.

I had a really hard time with the lighting on these. I'll probably throw them in my wannabe photoshop program and fix the color :P There's one for either taste you may have--angled and straight :P

Happy was following me everywhere. But at least he was nice enough to pose here and there ;) The lighting was a little poor in this shot though... :-/

Here's a closeup on Cash's fuzziness. I love those little Arab ears
And here's my poor laid-up cripple again. At least she wasn't limping so bad here...

To round out the perfect 7, I had a picture of Samson, too... but I can't seem to post it right now **sigh** oh well... it's the thought that counts :D Hope you enjoyed the insanity!
